"Hope For Tomorrow" is a song that deals with the hurting of the world that we find ourselves in. With references to hungry families and small churches, the song seeks to show the listener the goodness of God. Christ shows us a Hope for tomorrow, a peace for today, a joy in the sorrow, and a comfort in the pain. We have all, at some time, doubted God's goodness. We may have even lied in bed, cried our eyes out, and prayed that God would take away all the pain. We also may be guilty of accusing the creator of things God is not guilty of. This song seeks to preach that the goodness of God, though not always immediately visible to the persecuted, is there and providing hope and direction for the future.
"Hope for Tomorrow"
A widow sits in her dirty apartment and says to her teenage girl,
Who by the way doesn't look much like a girl anymore,
She says, "Things have been tight this week, and I'm not really sure how we'll eat."
But the sad thing is that this story is not unique.
'Cuz we've all laid in bed and cried our eyes out,
And prayed that God would take away the pain.
We've all said some things to the maker of earth
That we wish that we would not have said.
And it's not too late for all this to go away...to go away
A pastor finishes his Sunday sermon, quite possibly his best to date,
And looks out on the crowd of only two in the room.
He says, "Where did we go wrong here?" as his eyes slowly fill with tears.
What's coming has been coming for so many years...
'Cuz we've all laid in bed and cried our eyes out,
And prayed that God would take away the pain.
We've all said some things to the maker of earth
That we wish that we would not have said.
And it's not too late for all this to go away...to go away
There is Hope for tomorrow
There is Peace for today
There is Joy in the sorrow
There is Comfort in the pain
I know that I've laid in bed and cried my eyes out,
And prayed that God would take away the pain.
And I've said some things to the maker of earth
That I wish that I would not have said.
But it's not too late for all this to go away...
